Our goal was to create an elegant, impactful visual experience that would foreground the most iconic and memorable imagery of 2018—including Amy Sherald’s striking portrait of former first lady Michelle Obama; Nike’s “Just Do It” campaign featuring Colin Kaepernick; and Tyler Mitchell’s portrait of Beyoncé for the cover of Vogue, making him the first African-American photographer to shoot the magazine’s cover in its 125-year history.
