Imagine clicking on a Myspace banner and discovering your destiny. That’s precisely how my adventure began—with a serendipitous leap into a photoshoot competition that led me to my first mentor, the legendary photographer David LaChapelle, igniting a now fifteen-year odyssey through the art world’s beautiful chaos.
Today, as an art and photography director, currently at David Zwirner, I craft art and artist narratives through impactful digital experiences. My role marries creative strategy with visual storytelling: I develop strategic partnerships across departments to pioneer new digital initiatives and tentpole features, and commission cutting-edge work in photography, film, design, and animation, all while collaborating with some of the most inspiring artists in the world. Here, I amplify the voices of artists, helping them echo across the digital expanse, from my debut project, Artists for Biden, to influential multichannel franchises.
Before this chapter in the digital art realm, there was Artsy. As an early member of the once-fledgling startup, I helped shape what would become the world’s most-read art publication. In my roles as writer, editor, producer, and creative director, my proudest achievement was establishing Artsy’s visual identity, creating digital experiences that defined the brand. I delved deep into the art world, navigating 25+ art fairs annually across multiple continents, and producing 200+ articles and features—a journey of immersion that didn’t just inform me; it honed my strategic approach to art direction and content creation for the art world.
My professional path was forged at SCAD, where I nurtured my love for photography and visual arts. After graduation, my trajectory was anything but linear—from immersion under LaChapelle’s tutelage to absorbing wisdom from visionaries like Ryan McGinley, and diving into photo shoot production at Nylon, every step was a building block in understanding the multifaceted dynamism of art and artists—and a boot camp for bringing creative ideas to fruition.
When I’m not working, you’ll find me in a yoga class, a jazz club, tending to my garden, or on a sailboat chasing the horizon. I’m also an avid Sunday morning digital explorer; I get chills down my spine when I come across truly moving and transportive digital experiences—and most of the time you’ll find me either seeking them or creating them.
